Maison Barberis was born from a family history deeply rooted in craftsmanship and know-how, a history that crosses generations and borders, connecting the Normandy lands to the city of Cuneo in Italy. Founded in Paris, in the 15th arrondissement, Maison Barberis is dedicated to the renovation of luxury handbags and vintage jewelry, with a unique specialty in galvanization, giving new life to these precious objects that carry within them intimate and timeless stories.

Our story

Amélie Pépin, founder of Maison Barberis, grew up in the heart of Pont-Audemer, a Normandy town steeped in artisanal traditions. Her grandfather Bernard, a tanner for 45 years at the Tannerie Costil, was a dedicated and passionate tradesman, who had a deep respect for leather and craftsmanship. Amélie inherited this love for a job well done, attention to detail, and respect for noble materials.

The history of Maison Barberis does not stop at Pont-Audemer. It also extends to Italy, where her grandmother Madeleine Barberis, from a family of shoemakers and hatters from Cuneo, crafted objects of timeless beauty. By choosing the name Maison Barberis, Amélie pays tribute to this dual heritage, to her French and Italian roots and to this artisanal tradition that spans time and generations.

"My grandfather Bernard always had hands blackened by tanning leather, hands that embodied the love of a job well done. The Maison Barberis logo, followed by a heart stamped with a fingerprint, pays homage to him and to my artisan ancestors, symbolizing their heritage and their dedication to excellence."

In her Parisian workshop, Maison Barberis brings luxury handbags and vintage jewelry back to life with meticulous attention to detail. Each piece that passes through Amélie's hands is treated with the respect it deserves, restored with techniques that combine tradition and modernity. Galvanization, a rare and precious specialty, allows jewelry to be restored to its original shine, transforming time-worn objects into resplendent treasures. Maison Barberis is not simply a renovation workshop. It is a sanctuary for objects that tell stories, a place where the soul of each handbag, each piece of jewelry, is honored and sublimated. Amélie sees in each restoration a new chance to perpetuate family craftsmanship, to give new life to pieces full of memories, and to keep alive a tradition that, through her, continues to reinvent itself. Maison Barberis is the fruit of a passion that has spanned generations, a tribute to the craftsmanship of yesterday and today. By bringing your favorite handbags and jewelry back to life, Amélie perpetuates a precious legacy, while writing, together, the new pages of their history.
